I've been an intermittent paw-wax user for a long time, most recently converted to Musher's Secret. I do not live in a snow-belt region so this is primarily for surface-contact protection rather than preventing inter-pad snow buildup.The stuff is awesome, however I have two caveats: 1) Use a latex or nitrile rubber glove when applying it. ... I have a German Shepherd dog and I use Musher's Secret on his paws during the winter so that the salt and ice do not hurt them. He used to spend a lot of time licking his paws before I got this and now he doesn't do it as much when it snows (although he seems to like licking the Musher's Secret from his paws when I've just put it on) and he doesn't do it at all in normal weather. His paws tend to get worn and this product helps soothe and protect them. You don't have to use a lot either, so it lasts a long time. Boots were a nightmare. Musher's Secret has her trotting along over any surface, no problem. No mess on floors or carpets. Fantastic miracle product for us! (Does not help against slipping on wood/tile floors though - it's not meant to, but just in case anyone is looking for a multi-use salve.) |
