I LIKE the thing too. 3" higher makes quite a difference. One thing I wish they would have done was to make the thing stay up when lifted up. How hard could that be? And at sixty bucks. Kind of a pain to have to jury-rig it somehow to get it to stay up when cleaning the base. But it does make getting up a lot more pleasant. If I had more toilets, I'd put some on them too. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful  Satisfactory solution after a hip joint replacement, By Steve V (Norman, Oklahoma) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Improving Lifestyles Elevated Toilet Seat HINGED - Elongated (Health and Beauty) What we received is better described as a hinged riser than a toilet seat, as you need to place your existing seat on top of this unit, then secure both of them to the toilet with the two long bolts provided.This unit added about three inches to the rim height, so 14+ inches became 17+ inches, plus another inch or more when we installed our existing toilet seat on top of this product. Instead of the large contoured gasket described in the instructions, we received two rubber washers several inches in diameter. A bit disappointing, but it does work. Overall this is much nicer than what we had been using. The previous high seat had to be removed weekly for cleaning, and needed more cleaning because the hole in the doughnut (so to speak -- sorry to be crude) was smaller. And it's nice to have a cover. |
